[365day Beauty] Glamour while working

Thursday, January 19th, 2012

365g - apryl french tips keyboardI did my nails the other day – hand painting dark grey on a set of white acrylic tips. Love the look of it but the longer nails are a leetle obnoxious to type with as my talons tap against the rows above my fingers. Ever run into that problem? I get by and it’s not terrible but I’m glad I’m not a stenographer.

Most of the time I can combine my need for daily glamour with my work duties just fine – high heels? check! signature perfume? check check! designer bra? yes indeedy! Just as long as I can walk, think, and type I’m pretty much set for some productivity.

[365day Work] Mondays can be maddening

Monday, January 9th, 2012

365g - angry blonde chick 400x300Ever been in this situation? Barely a few hours into my work day I already feel like screaming and blowing my devices up. This doesn’t bode well for the work WEEK.

So, how do I cope? Take a breath and a break. Then after I’ve returned and finished my processes I take a look at them – and seek inspiration from one of my favorite lifehack blogs: Marc & Angel Hack Life.

I suggest you do the same :) And later on when I get my erm…shiz together I’ll share some of my own career and lifestyle hacks.

[365day Inspiration] Are you your Mother’s daughter?

Sunday, May 1st, 2011

Who is the mother? Who is the daughter?Since Mother’s Day is coming up I’ve been wondering how much of my own personality has been influenced by my mom’s. Am I my own mothers daughter? If not how has her example affected my life and values?  What of that of my girlfriends?

So I’ve decided this month to write about the ways in which my mother and other mother’s out there have shaped their daughters lives. Feel free to share your own examples with me here in the comments or email me.

Are we our mothers daughters? From fashion to beauty, work to play, our sexuality to body image lets take a look at the lessons our mother’s have lovingly shared with us.

Mother’s do a heckuva lot for us – more than just one day of chocolates and flowers warrants!

Day 24: A Warning For Girls Who Date Big Men

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

And by “big” I don’t mean his member. I mean rather reputation and business. Owns companies and runs businesses, that kind of thing. Men who do important things and make stuff happen.

Anyway…Girls, do NOT ever waste their time. Cause they don’t have any really.

This point was hammered home yesterday for me when I whimsically dragged Anomaly Boy with me an hour out of town to drop off something for one of our hot girl friends. Not a happy boy he was driving to or from.

I am normally a good girl about asking for his time but I actually though this might be enjoyable for him.

Wrong.

Oh well…lesson learned.
