Ok now it’s time to get out of the bath, cause soaking yourself in aromatheraputic oils all night long w/ candles and New Age music does not actually = muchness. That’s just the cleansing part. Now I’m gonna tell you about “refilling the muchness”. How do you do that refilling you may wonder? Well you can start by recalling all those pretty pink and blue thoughts you have about yourself, your memories, your dreams, etc. etc. and ask yourself some key questions about what allows you both to feel good about yourself AND produce joy within.
Think of it as making a mental Muchness Grocery List – of only “soulfully nutritious” items, activities, and experiences that refill, recharge, and reactivate YOU.
Recent national events have me quite disturbed. Specifically the attacks on Planned Parenthood with the prospect of defunding the organization altogether by some very self righteous and unjust political leaders and civil groups.
As a responsible, sexually active young woman juggling a freelance career I am horrified that there is a large segment of my country that would want to deny me quality healthcare that I can actually afford. That’s right – outright deny. I am further horrified and not the least bit disgusted that this same segment of people and political leaders would put forth actions to deny millions of mothers, fathers, and children that same affordable healthcare.
All in the name of saving money for the taxpayer they say. They say they don’t want to fund a certain kind of procedure that in comparison to the other services Planned Parenthood provides people is a rather rare occurrence. I am of course talking about abortion – the often misunderstood procedure that gives women a choice over their health, their bodies, their lifestyle, and their family planning.
Well guess what – taxpayers DO. NOT. PAY. for ANY woman’s abortion. It’s just a solid fact. And as conscientious taxpayers, citizens and human beings that care for each other we must remind our senators and politicians of that fact. We must also remind them of what services Planned Parenthood does provide people, women especially.
Planned Parenthood CARES for people – it cares for women, girls, and even men. Let us all remember that as a nation that supposedly also cares for each other. Lend your voice and make sure your congressional leaders know how you feel about the attacks. Stand up for Planned Parenthood by showing your support. Fight against the uncaring ignorance of misguided people like Lila Rose out there and make sure this organization remains funded so that women and others can continue to live responsibly and healthily.

“I heard someone once say that we’re only as sick as our secrets.” -Carrie Fisher’s Wishful Drinking
I have begun reading about Carrie Fisher’s crazy up and down life with delighted interest. After watching all the youtube videos of her I could find starting with the one below, and then reading a slew of articles and interviews I boogied on over to the library for a copy of her totally candid live-and-in-wacky-first-person autobiography Wishful Drinking.
My mother, whom I currently chaperon asks innocently “do you think you are bipolar?” then,
“all the people I’ve heard about being bipolar are really hard to live with.”
She’s so wonderful and seems blithely forgetful of the often emotionally torturous years her and my father have survived in raising me. That or she took a good measure of peace in her office miles away while I raged home alone with my brother. No matter, she has always taken my intensity in stride…as best she can anyway.
Alright…gotta get back to the book. Here’s that vid I was talkin about an excerpt from the amazing documentary hosted by Stephen Fry “The Secret Life of a Manic Depressive”:
By the way, did you notice how I totally posted this out of sequence? Yeah, it’s been a weird…project.
