If you want a relationship that lasts you may be wise to take a look at the one that created you first, especially from your mother’s perspective. Even if she was unable to cement the bond she had with your father there’s still learning to be had from her experience that will influence your own for good or ill. Recognizing what was a healthy example in your parents relationship or what patterns made for a disharmonious dynamic between them helpfully prepare you and strengthen your own bonding.

I have been experiencing an epic fail of communication with a boy I like. Texts don’t go through, email gets unanswered, his iphone kicks my ass right into voicemail.
