I did my nails the other day – hand painting dark grey on a set of white acrylic tips. Love the look of it but the longer nails are a leetle obnoxious to type with as my talons tap against the rows above my fingers. Ever run into that problem? I get by and it’s not terrible but I’m glad I’m not a stenographer.

Most of the time I can combine my need for daily glamour with my work duties just fine – high heels? check! signature perfume? check check! designer bra? yes indeedy! Just as long as I can walk, think, and type I’m pretty much set for some productivity.

So you’re a hot freelancer with a home office huh? It’s a pretty sweet deal when you set up to work on the couch and go thru your checklist:

Since leaving the cubicle farm years ago I’ve often found myself in desperate need of tools and rituals to get my scatterbrainz into work mode. When your environment is your place of rest and your place of work things can get quite sketchy and crazy making. No “Makeup Monday” or “Wearable Wednesday” posts this week? What’s up with that?

Don’t worry, I’ve got some great content coming up for you – I’ve just been busy with extra biz stuff and I don’t have more than one brain or 2 extra hands to type it all out (not that I’d want the extra digits…I mean, how would all my clothes fit?). So I have many projects that I work on and today I’m pretty busy with the main one. All of them involve being on the web so I’m a pretty good expert on how to utilize the web and getting it to enhance your life. Here’s the tools I use nearly every day:

Google Docs – great for sharing documented info across the web.
Mindomo – mind mapping software that nicely organizes all my little brainstorms and ideas.
Facebook – fantastic for staying connected with friends AND business contacts.
Youtube – for tutorials and getting a feel for what the competition is producing and sharing with the public
Google – used of course for researching.

That’s just the basic list. Later on I’ll share my tips on using these to maximum benefit. But until then, must plug away!
