Makeup Monday: The Web is a Godsend for the Makeup Obsessed

Social Media + Makeup = Easy Access Beauty

Lets take Social Media giant Youtube for example: You know, the beauty of youtube, and the web for that matter is you can research the crap out of your next makeup purchase, find inspiration from photos with just a few keywords, AND learn step by gorgeous step in the comfort of your own home how to put all that stuff on! You don’t have to be set upon by the vultures that work the cosmetics counter. You don’t have to find a sister or a best friend to sit down with you. And you don’t have to subject yourself to hundreds of dollars of product and tools just to have your face break out in hives the next morning.

You just search and then press play.

God it’s glorious.

There is a lot to choose from in the big Social Media ocean however. So I’m here to pick out the pearls of wisdom and awesomeness for you. And to start I’ve got a makeup guru that kicks ass in so many ways: Justine Metz. She’s wicked, she’s willful, she probably thinks you’re an idiot and not just with your makeup choices. All these are reason to look, listen, laugh, and learn.

Ya know what…. this video made yogurt come out of my nose. That’s how funny it was (because I’m eating yogurt for breakfast). I do love that the internet is such a great resource for make up tips, tricks, how-tos and reviews. I am so thankful to the women who take the time to show off the funny faces they do in the mirror when putting on mascara. I love watching hair tutorials too. I spent an hour watching little asian girls put their hair into messy buns. (Can we just take a moment and check out the possible dirty keyword strains in that comment?)

lol, that is fabulous – though I hope you didn’t um get yogurt on any devices or anything ;) hehe.

and yeah the hair ones floor me – it’s like watching a magic show! lol – I have yet to actually try to make my hair like that. just knowing I can experiment in my home w/ no one else around, that is comfort enough :)

ah, dirty key word strains…very nice ;)

    thanx again for commenting Alyson!
