This first month of the new year is certainly full of possibilities isn’t it? New this, new that, shiny, sparkly, fresh, promising. Yes, it’s all very exciting isn’t it. Well before you jump all over your new year’s resolutions like a woman on a mission may I suggest you take stock of what you currently have and do a little…laundering. Yep – before you spend your time chasing the new you gotta start with taking care of the NOW.
The body you are in now.
The work you do now.
The people you love now.
The space you are in now. Mentally AND physically.
You know, the criteria for a woman to be desired & admired by both her own kind and the opposite sex is a lot more varied and perfectly attainable than you may think. A hot girl can come in a body that is large, small, or anything in between. She can have long limbs, big feet, fine hair, and gapped teeth. Any number of hot qualities and traits she possesses fit nicely into her multifaceted personality right alongside shyness or nerdiness or quirkily snorting when she laughs.
To be a hot girl it doesn’t matter if you are 19 or 90.

So, I could say that once you get your muchness filled and refilled on a regular basis that now, you good to go. But there is just one more thing you gotta do with all that awesomeness that you are: SHARE.
Once you know what things, activities, and stuff make up your muchness you gotta get into the habit of filling and refilling yourself with them. Think of it as practicing the Art of Playing. Get out your toys (or tools of muchness) and have some fun.
I’ve been on my own muchness practice & binge these last few weeks – spending as much time as possible every day playing with the stuff that delights, amuses, and fills up me up and gets me feeling really groovy.
Sometimes you don’t have time for a big ME-time Retreat. That shouldn’t be any excuse to let your muchness go slack. This is why it’s ultra important for you to do a least a little something awesome for yourself and your psyche every day or every other day. It’s food for the soul and keeps you sane. (more…)
So you’re a hot freelancer with a home office huh? It’s a pretty sweet deal when you set up to work on the couch and go thru your checklist:
Work tunes? Check!
Laptop? Check check!
Plan of attack? Uh….
Since leaving the cubicle farm years ago I’ve often found myself in desperate need of tools and rituals to get my scatterbrainz into work mode. When your environment is your place of rest and your place of work things can get quite sketchy and crazy making. I’ve found one of the best ways to get kickin ass on a workload is to start with a nice little series of rituals: (more…)

“Please clean up after yourself. Your mom doesn’t work here.”
The first time I saw these words posted on an office cupboard I was confused. Of course my mother didn’t work here I thought to myself after reading it. My mom was plugging away at an company miles from this office. In fact she had been working hard at that particularly company for years so she could keep a roof over our heads and brand named microwave dinners on the table.
It took me a second to realize that the sign presumed that whoever was reading it had a mother to constantly clean up after them. Well the truth for my own mother was that she was just a little too tired after a long day to clean up after her perfectly capable children. As a result I learned very early on to put my things away. It was the least I could do. (more…)
