[365day Beauty] 5 Tips about food that make a gorgeous body

365g - girl with groceriesAre you eating “real” food? Food for a healthy and hot human woman…as opposed to food to feed say, a vending machine? You know what I’m talking about and if not get yourself educated  stat! The old adage “you are what you eat” may not be spot on when it comes to making a healthy humanperson but it is a place to start. There’s stuff you should eat if you want to look and feel good and there is definitely stuff you shouldn’t even look at let alone put in your belly.

Unfortunately in this day and age the stuff you shouldn’t eat is in large and overwhelming supply. But the good news is that once you know not just what to avoid but “how” to avoid the funky stuff and how to fill yourself up with the goodstuff it becomes an easy and lifelong habit. I won’t get super detailed in this post but I will offer some tips:

Tip 1: Eat like a human - Not like a rabbit, not like a couch potato, not like a cartoon character addicted to chocolate, or a fairy princess that lives off nothing but fresh morning dew. Humans need protein, fats, fiber, and carbohydrates ok? As a girl you will need proteins and fats especially and at every meal to keep your hormones balanced, your skin soft, your hair lush.

Tip 2: Stock up on REAL foods – The key here is to shop for things that in theory you could “hunt”, “pick”, or “gather”. Think old school….like prehistoric old school. Hunt down proteins like meat, poultry, fish, or eggs. Gather up fats like cream and butter. Pick up fiber and carbohydrates in vegetables and fruits.

Tip 3: Eat EVERY meal EVERY day – at least 3 meals a day, but 5 is great too. When you skip meals you stress your body out which is not cool. Train yourself to eat a solid breakfast, pack a lunch, eat that dinner. Also with each meal you should be having protein and fat – those are the awesome building blocks that make up YOU and your body.

Tip 4: Embrace Saturated fats – yep I said it…saturated fats. Like animal fats from butter, cheese, etc. This kind of fat is essential in building hormones (remember the soft skin and lush hair?). Fat will not make you fat any more than eating lipstick will make you pretty ok? Saturated fats are the most stable as well since you also want to….

Tip 5: Avoid nasty transfats – these easily come from vegetable fats that once not too long ago were thought of as super good for you. Wow, totally wrong there. Vegetable fats are not all that stable so stop stop stop using margarine (usually made from soybean oil, yuck) to cook with.

Do that and you will be maintaining that gorgeous form :)
